Of course, battery of the laptop cannot work forever, and you have to give your best to length the battery life. When everything works as it should, as soon as you plug in your laptop, you will see the LED light that is glowing, and the display from your computer will become bright. However, you may find yourself in the situation when this is not exactly the thing you will see. You may turn your computer on, but you may notice that your battery is almost completely empty, and there will be no glowing light. Moreover, you will see that your battery is not charging. Check if your laptop is plugged-in – this may sound stupid, but this is the great place to start. You may not even notice, but laptop plugs an AC outlet are maybe not firmly seated. That is exactly why you should check this first. The next thing you need to pay attention to is AC adapter. Make sure that removable cords of the laptop are entirely inserted. The thing you should also check is if the laptop battery is in its place. Contact points of the laptop and the battery are crucial, and in some cases, you cannot even notice that the battery is not placed as it should be. One more thing – check the outlet you were using, because maybe something went wrong with it, and perhaps the laptop is not the problem at all. Just plug the laptop cord into other outlet.

Breaks on the cord – one of the things that can cause the problem for battery charging is any break on the cord. Make sure to check the cables properly to see if everything is all right. You may even smell the burnt plastic, and you will come to the conclusion where the problem is.

Lose the battery – sometimes, the problem may be in the battery stuck. Just remove it completely, and move it back to the laptop. If everything works appropriately, the battery was the issue.

Check if the laptop connector is working properly – if there is any burning smell, or damage on the connector, you will have to take it to the service to be repaired.

Laptop overheating – in many cases, this can be the issue that causes battery not charging problem. You should avoid any blockades of the laptop's cooking vents, because that will cause the overheating, and battery won't charge. You should let the system cool down a bit, and to make sure that vents are completely clean. The battery will charge again.
